AYSO Section 7 - COMMITTED TO KIDS!

Aloha and Welcome

Aloha & Welcome to the 2025 AYSO EXPO, May 1-4, 2025.

Mahalo for registering to attend this year’s 2025 AYSO EXPO at the Alohilani Resort Hotel in Waikiki. This letter serves as your confirmation and that we are excited to have you attend this annual event. The weekend will be filled with opportunities to learn more about AYSO through education and training, but more importantly, a chance for you to meet other AYSO volunteers to network and share stories of your experiences in AYSO.

Here is some helpful information to prepare for the EXPO:

PRIOR to the EXPO:

1.    We ask that you go to AYSOU to pre-register for the classes you are interested in taking. To look for the classes being offered, make sure the calendar is on May 2025 and enter Honolulu, HI. The list of scheduled classes will populate.  From here you can pre- register. Pay attention to those classes that have pre-course work to complete prior to the class being offered at the EXPO. You must complete the pre-course work first otherwise you won’t be allowed to attend the companion class being offered

The HOTEL:

1.        Alohilani Resort is a big hotel with a not-so-big parking lot. Please come early, or carpool if you can. There are 2 self-park entrances; one on Kuhio Ave. and one on Liliuokalani Ave. (one-way headed mauka). The EXPO registration desk will validate your ticket.  Validated self-parking is $10 per car. Valet parking is also available at a discounted     cost of $45 per day with validation, also available at the EXPO registration desk.      Please check to see if your region will be picking up your parking expenses before      you arrive. If your region is not covering parking for you, you will owe the registration desk $10 at the time of validation for self-parking, or $45 for valet parking.

2.        In case the self-park lot is full, alternative parking site suggestions include the Zoo OR the Waikiki Shell. The cost for parking at the Zoo is prepaid at a kiosk at $1.50 per hour with a maximum of 4 hours but if you input your cell phone number into the kiosk, they will call you before your time expires and you can add time via your cell phone at the hourly rate plus an additional $1.50. Parking at the Waikiki Shell ranges between $6-$8, as long as you don’t leave your car there past 5:00 pm.

3.        For those of you staying at the hotel, check-in time is 3:00 pm.

THE EXPO

1.        The EXPO Registration desk will be located on the 6th floor foyer of the Alohilani Grand Ballroom. The easiest way to access this floor is to use the self-park elevators, which will take you right to the floor.  If you enter the hotel through the lobby and take the elevator  to your left opposite the check-in desk, it will take you to the 3rd floor only. This is where most of the EXPO classes will be, but if you need to go to the 6th floor, you will have to change elevators. Just follow the signs.

2.        On the first day you attend, you will need to check-in at the EXPO Registration desk. You will receive a badge, meal tickets, program booklet, and goodie bag.  You will also be able to validate your self-park or valet ticket.

3.        For those attending class on Thursday, (there are 2 classes being offered), we will be serving you dinner.  For those attending Friday morning classes (there are 4), we will be serving lunch.

4.        Food & Beverage: As mentioned earlier, Thursday & Friday meals are provided for those who register and attend those specific classes.  Since Saturday is a full day, we will serve breakfast and lunch to all our attendees. We will also have a short presentation Saturday morning during breakfast, led by our AYSO National President, Doug Ryan, so please plan to attend. Saturday lunch will be our awards luncheon. To our plant-based friends, we did our best to include menu selections to meet your dietary needs based on what the hotel had to offer.  However, you may find the need to bring in something to supplement your meal such as a protein drink or similar. We ask that you do so discreetly. We will have a continental breakfast available on Sunday. Water stations will be in all the meeting rooms this year so bringing a water bottle is optional. We will also have a beverage station on the 6th floor foyer with coffee, tea (both hot and iced), and water available throughout the weekend.

5.        Coach and Referee classes will be held on the third floor. Management classes will be split between the third and sixth floors of the hotel. A map is available in the EXPO booklet, and on the Cvent app.  More on this app below.

6.        Our vendor show will be located on the 6th floor foyer. We have 9 vendors presenting their products to you. They are Fold-a-Goal, Sport Pins, Sator Soccer, Tiny Mobile Robot, SCORE, Challenger Sports, Five-O Photo, AYSO United, and Wilson Trophy. Fill out your passport by visiting each vendor, then enter to win prizes donated by these same vendors on Sunday at breakfast.

7.        We will be the first Section to use Cvent, an app designed to help you keep track of all things related to the EXPO. PRIOR to coming to EXPO, download the app:

As you can tell, we have a busy weekend planned at the EXPO this year so please plan to take full advantage of all we have to offer. Take time to network and make new friends and have fun too.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any of our EXPO Planning Committee members during the weekend!

We look forward to seeing you soon!
